It’s time for another devHuis. If you are interested in exploring how to reach out of the screen and how to build a cool wireless application then your’re in the right place. We are again focusing on coding for this session. So this is an open call to all developers or aspiring learning developers. We’ll cover the basics of how to build an application based on the Roomware Project framework, and then break out into groups, get coding and then present our freshly minted work at the end of the afternoon. Should be a lot of fun!

Mark Saturday the 28th of July in your calendars, we’ll be hosting the 6th edition of RoomWare Devhuis and you are invited. We’ll use this DevHuis to show off some of Tom Burger and Nick Palmer’s latest updates to the RoomWare server code (still unreleased at this time), discuss general progress, imagine the future and have some fun.

Upcoming server updates:

- RFID support, scan those passports
- Java Bluetooth library for the Mac, the one and only
- Server redesign, “more configurable, less fuzzy”

We are always open to ad-hoc presentations and showing off your latest code, tech or ideas. Let us know if you’ve built anything cool that you would like to present.

We’ve moved this DevHuis to the Post CS building next to Amsterdam Central Station where Wakoopa will kindly host our event on the 8th Floor (suite 804). We’ll be there starting around 12:00 until dinner in town nearby.

Add your name to the Upcoming guest roster!

Our latest DevHouse, or DevHuis as Andy thinks we should call it, was held this saturday and led to a much clearer picture of our architecture and roadmap. We did get merry and drink beer also. All was well. I’ll post some notes to the wiki as soon as i have that up and running again. We are working on a new site too which is being HTML-ed as i type this by the wonderful Sjors. We’ll try to have that online a.s.a.p. Furthermore i’m setting up a single mailinglist for all the people involved in the project, you should receive notifcation when i have set it up and you joined us in the past.

For some event pics check out Andy’s Flickr stream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/termie/tags/roomware/Â
